About Us
Hi, I'm Kaite, your typical 20-something. My best friend and business partner Kylie, a retired racing greyhound, tricked me into adopting her in May 2017 and life has never been the same. Since then, we've gone on endless ice cream runs, acquired a taste for Raising Cane's (reinforced by our infamous Cane's Saturdays every Saturday), navigated the scary tile floors in the mall to see the Easter Bunny, kicked butt at the Halloween costume contests, found the best parks for walkies (the ones with water misters or ponds!), discovered the power of bravery booties, and so, so much more.
Ever the stylish houndie, Kylie and I have been making collars, leashes, and coats for her (and her friends') every occasion--birthdays, gotcha days, ampuversaries, and regular wardrobe updates. Kylie's personal philosophy: it's never a good time to be out of season!ย
In August 2018, tragedy struck when Kylie broke all four of her metatarsals running in the yard, leading to an amputation of her back left leg. I thought she'd never be the same, but she's definitely proven me wrong in the years since.ย A note received during her recovery reminded us that "life's too short to be out of style" and we returned to our creative houndie fashion endeavors to shine some light on dark days, using houndie fashion as a bit of a coping mechanism. That Halloween Kylie crushed the costume contest in her piรฑata costume--complete with a paper mache leg and candy falling from her stump (check out the pictures in Kylie's Halloween blog post here)! And it's only gotten wilder since.ย
After much hounding (see what I did there? :P), we've decided to take the plunge and open our shop to make Kylie's fashions accessible to a larger audience. We hopeย they bring you as much joy as they bring us!
